Viktor Kramarenko is a self-taught watercolor artist from Ukraine. Born in the picturesque mountainous Carpathians of western Ukraine, he lived there until recently. Before retiring, he worked as an English translator and interpreter, which allowed him to travel extensively and learn about different cultures and landscapes. Although grateful for the opportunity to see the world, he finds the greatest beauty in his home country. The serene meadows, forests, and rivers of the Carpathian highlands will forever draw him back to Ukraine.
While he possesses a distinctive style, Viktor continuously refines his techniques by studying artists from around the world, such as Paul Clark (U.K.), Steve Mitchell (U.K.), and Javid Tabatabaei (India). These artists inspire him to express himself through light, color, and texture, challenging him to improve his realism and experiment with abstract and figurative elements.
For many years, watercolor painting was his hobby. It has now become an opportunity to support his country, with most of the proceeds from this gallery's sales being donated to volunteer organizations in his hometown.
As a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Viktor and his wife Lesia found a new home in North Carolina. Shortly after arriving, they became active members of the" Ukrainian Association of North Carolina;" a volunteer organization that organizes cultural events and attends local craft fairs.
