Kozo, inner bark the mulberry tree, is the prevalent fiber for Asian papermaking. Its long fibers are cooked, beaten, pressed and dried on boards. The fiber makes paper of incredible strength and translucency. The paper is used for lanterns, screens, and other crafts. This piece contrasts the beaten fiber with the strands of the unbeaten fiber for the line work.
