Abaca is made from the petiole (leaf rib) of the banana tree. It is a versatile fiber for paper, sculpture, and has interesting effects when overbeaten. Parts of the paper were restrained by weights while drying.

I make musically inspired pieces focusing on the variety of plant forms, colors, and textures. I make handmade paper utilizing a variery of plant fibers, add natural dyes, leaves, seeds, and mixed media.
