Imagination & Wonder: Poetrio string trio and live poetry performance
Date & time: August 1st, 6-8 pm
Description of event: Join us for a performance featuring songs and original poems evoking awe, creativity, and wonder. As adults we often lose touch with our childlike sense of wonder, play, and curiosity. This performance aims to celebrate and reinvigorate that. Poems will be performed to a variety of songs ranging from classical composers such as Bach and Vivaldi, to contemporary artists such as Sigur Ros and Muse. Leave feeling rejuvenated and refreshed from the meditative experience of this journey through sound, words and imagery. There will be a short reception at the end with light fare and an option to meet and greet the poets and musicians.
Instructor/artist bios: Poetrio is a project created by local poet, photographer, and cellist Sara Joy Tiberio that aims to blend the beauty of string music with the artistry of poetry for a full sensory experience. Poetrio's string trio is comprised of violinist, Charlie Probus, violist, Ilan Simon and cellist, Sara Joy Tiberio. Original poems will be read by poets Marina Rozova, Travis Kyng, Antino Art and Sara Joy Tiberio - a group of talented, published poets who've been featured in poetry readings across the Triangle. Each of these poets has authored poetry collections and bring a unique voice to the project.
MUSICIANS
Sara Joy Tiberio
Sara Joy Tiberio is a poet, photographer, and cellist currently living in Cary, NC with her husband and two dogs. She works as a photographer and digital marketing manager for a jewelry designer. She is the author of Reaching Light Together (independently published). Her poetry has been previously published in 2020: Our Voices: Poetry Anthology, Signatures, and Opol. She plays cello in the Triangle String Orchestra and the trio for her newest project, Poetrio. She often seeks to build community around creative endeavors and combine art forms in new ways.
Charlie Probus
Charlie Probus is a multidisciplinary artist based in Durham, NC. They are a violinist with Indie Strings, Finch Ensemble, and Poetrio. Their plays have been seen across the country, including at the Arts Club of Washington in Washington DC, the Valdez Theatre Conference in Valdez, AK, and the Cary Playwrights Forum in Cary, NC, among others. Their play “Guilty Pleasure” won the Austin Hay One Act Playwriting Award and will be available through 1319 Press in Fall 2026. They are a member of the 2025 New Voices Cohort at Raleigh Little Theatre. Charlie’s poetry has appeared in Rat’s Ass Review, Phonebook Lit Mag, Opal Age, and onstage at Brooklyn Poets.
Ilan Simon
Ilan Simon began his musical journey with the Suzuki violin method before transitioning to the viola, drawn to the instrument's rich depth and versatility. From symphony halls to folk sessions, Ilan has always sought out diverse sonic landscapes. As a member of Poetrio, he is currently exploring the interplay of verbal and non-verbal creative expression through an experimental project that fuses poetry with eclectic soundscapes.

Antino Art
Antino Art is a magician with words. He writes ad copy to feed his daughter and poetry to feed his spirit, with words in Wildscape Lit, Dazed Santa, Southern Quill, and a travel poetry collection called Postcards From NowHERE (Bottlecap Press, 2024). Based in Raleigh with roots in South Florida and the Philippines, he co-founded the Third Angle Poets, a poetry collective for social good that hosts the Triangle Poetry Festival. His second chapbook is a collection of rainy day poems called Damn, The Weather, which drops Fall 2026 by way of Sabre Lake Publishing.

Marina Rozova
Marina has been writing poetry her whole life, using words to explore aspects of her identity that feel elusive and challenging. Born in Kyiv, Ukraine and raised in Brooklyn, she's found a home in Raleigh, where she embraced her artistic voice and connected with the local community through poetry events across the Triangle. Her poetry explores themes of immigration, assimilation, movement, hope, adventure, and light.
