Machine Pieced and Machine Quilted in Cotton Fabric and thread.

This is a study in values, regardless of color/scale of the fabric swatches .

The image is made up with about 100 2”/2” commercial purchased fabric squares with only the red squares added from my own “stash”.

Once I was finished arranging the squares in a “water color” way (using value more than color) the image reminded me of a book of match sticks.

The book of matches was placed “on tilt”.

The left over little squares appeared to be happy to arrange themselves (using value once more) into a perfect border frame.
