Class size: minimum 3, maximum 10 participants

In this series of four classes, students will learn to paint a monochromatic pet portrait of their favorite furry (or scaled or amphibious) friend. We’ll start with the basics of drawing and based on a photo draw out everyone’s pet to a likeness, then spend several days painting them in monochromatic watercolor. Students will learn the basics of watercolor painting and drawing a likeness with the help of the instructor. 

Please come to the workshop with a printed 8x5x11” image of your pet. All other materials are included with purchase of the class.    

Instructor : Maria Oglesby

Maria Oglesby (She/Her) is an illustrator and designer based in Carrboro, North Carolina. In addition to working as a freelance artist, she also works as an art teacher and college prep portfolio counselor. When she's not painting or drawing she can usually be found with her pets, Lyla, Spice, and Oberon, a good book, and whatever kittens she’s currently fostering. She studied illustration at the Art Center College of Design. She is open for commissions and to private art students. Inquiries can be made via [email protected]

This class is limited to 10 students. Cancellations by My Muses Card Shop will receive a full refund. Cancellations made 1 weeks or more before the event may receive a full refund. Cancellations made up to 3 days before the event can receive a 50% refund. No refund or exchanges for cancellations less than 3 days before the day of the class.
