Location Details: Our event space is located on the second floor of the Historic Carr Mill Mall, 200 N Greensboro St, Carrboro, NC 27510. You can take the outdoor stairs beside Tandem Restaurant's outdoor seating area or you can use the elevator or indoor staircase at the other end of the mall near Ceremony Salon. Either way, go left on the second floor and we are right next to the Pilates studio. 

In this workshop, we will learn to make our own journal using the coptic stitch binding technique. This type of binding features an exposed spine, custom covers, and beautiful chain stitch. The book will also lay completely flat when open! Perfect for all of your sketching and journaling needs. Students will go home with their own custom 5.5” by 8.5” journal/sketchbook. All materials provided. Suitable for beginners (ages 14+). 

Artist bio: 

Nora Boyle is a bookbinder, poet, and witch who runs a small literary press, Lady Book Witch Press. Interested in what it means to craft a material poem, Nora’s work explores the intersections of witchcraft, poetry, and bookmaking. Drawing on her feminist and nature-based values, Nora creates dark and whimsical books that simultaneously soothe and unsettle readers. A passionate advocate of independent publishing, Nora inspires others to create their own publications and to work collaboratively with other artists.
