In this beginning workshop, students will learn how to use watercolor materials, loosen up and let the process flow! Areas of focus will include composition, color and painting in both representational and abstract via still life. No experience or pre-requisites required.

Artist Bio

Hello my name is Leia. I am a native of Western NY, the Finger Lakes Region but spent over a quarter century living in Northern California around the San Francisco, Bay Area before relocating to beautiful North Carolina.
I have a Fine Arts degree in painting and drawing with a minor in art education. My background started in figure painting and evolved into representational and abstract. I use an intuitive process that is informed by my deep interest in the collective psychology of society and how that plays into our relationships with one another in community. I’m informed by holding heart opening space for myself and others as we relate to each other from our own personal backgrounds, environments and societal experiences. I’m fascinated by interpersonal relationships between people, our own heart space as well as our relationship with form, light, place, color, nature.. our environment. I use a process of meditative, heart opening presence to guide me.. Working from my heart allows me to stay grounded and focused on what matters most in life when the world around us doesn’t make sense.
